well after finally getting my computer back from the executive producer's house and in a location with an internet hookup I can post again. It's done, and here is what our director had to say about it:
Friday night 50 of us gathered in a small apartment in boston, we had sandwhiches and rehearsed scenes, we talked about how we were embarking upon the impossible. 72 hours later, I watched a movie called Money Shot - and it was good!
Saturday somewhere around 12:00 the AD (ted - godbless him, he was great about keeping this thing running like clockwork) yelled out "Lock it up, we're going for picture" I took a deep breath, "what the F&*k have I gotten myself into" I thought. I looked at Labid (the producer) and at Ryan (co-producer, it was his idea to do this in the first palce) I smiled and called "action", we were on the clock.
Two hours into filming we had three actors cancel on us for various reasons. We went into crisis mode, an hour later all three roles had been filled and we couldn't have done better than the final cast! An hour after that the set went dark, we had blown a fuse - it would happen again unless Labid could come up with a new lighting plan that used half as much power. Fifteen minutes later we were back on track and never looked back.
Everyone who worked on this pulled together and made this an amazing 72 hours. I fell in love with everyone! I also smoked about 6 packs of cigarettes which is saying something becuase I don't smoke!
I went into this prepared for the worst but hoping for the best. This experience is so far beyond what I had though could be the best. I am amazed by everyone around me, I am amazed by the film we made with no time and no money, just determination and love. I am amazed that we got everything on the first take.
They said we were mad to try this, and they were right. Our film ends with a quote from Jack Kerouac and it truly summarizing my feelings about the entire cast and crew of Money Shot " The only ones for me are the mad ones. the ones who are mad to live, mad to talk, mad to be saved, desirous of everything at the same time, the ones who never yawn or say a commonplace thing, but burn, burn, burn llike fabulous yellow roman candles exploding like spiders across the stars."
